Be Prepared

After finding myself eating corn chips covered in Frank’s Hot Sauce Monday night while watching MasterChefs take on cheese soufflés, I realize I needed to prepare a little more for this.

The only foreseeable problem was that my credit card had been semi-missing since Sunday morning. Yesterday I went to the [Whole Market-esque] grocery store where they assured me they take out-of-town checks, but after I had spent my whole lunch carefully picking out supplies for the week (including ingredients for a gluten-free pizza for dinner) they decided that since my Florida ID was issued less than a year ago, it was a little suspect. So, I went without lunch, and the self-respect one can maintain when a dozen or so Vero Beach house-mom’s HAVEN’T watched you with pity as you get escorted off the premise by a grocery store manager.

After 4 more hours of work and an hour drive home, Logan was left with a very disgruntled girlfriend. Eventually we located my credit card under my car’s driver’s seat, but I held a grudge with him for not having: A) Magically procured a gluten-free (which I’ll refer to as gf from now on) cheese soufflé, B) Not just given me cash he owes me for August rent to go to the grocery store, and C) Not jumping on the chance to accompany me to the grocery store where I will most likely make a public scene. Luckily this story ends with me having eaten half a jar of pickles (OK, so I screwed up a little), 4 gluten-free tacos, a cup of soy chocolate milk, and apologizing to Logan.

Today I am armed with the gf granola bar I ate for breakfast, the Amy’s gf enchilada bowl I’m going to have for lunch, a bunch of chipotle chile sunflower seeds for a snack and some pretty stellar chicken options for dinner.

Lol, I love the unrealistic expectations of Logan in your famished state. It happens. At least you haven’t been eating donuts for breakfast and pizza for supper the last few days like me! (gas station food is on the menu for the next 4 meals too…)
